Intro

We don't like to toot our own trumpet too hard but we're pretty good at smashing out Shopify sites, the build of a Shopify site isn't massively complex for a team of creatives and in reality there's many things we would love to do with Shopify as creatives but it's just not possible. What's important is that a Shopify build makes lots of sales and our job, in this case and every case, is to guide the client to a place where they are confident they can maximise its sales potential.

The Project

This job didn't become a big deal for us because it's Exeter Chiefs, they are one of the biggest rugby teams in England (did we mention that already) and for any creative agency this is a great client to have, but for us it was more about getting the client happy with us, getting the sale over the line and delivering on a promise that their new site would save them time, make more sales and improve their order management.

Multiple meetings, a presentation to the CEO and multiple scenarios run to outline savings as well as increased sales and after two years we finally got the green light. Typlcally the Chief's store was in a lull between the end of one season and the start of the next and this presented us with both an opportunity and a deadline as it was clear that getting the new season underway with the new website would be a massive advantage. We tried to push the client to use Shopify's integrate Point of Sale system but in truth we couldn't match their card processing rates or justify the cost of throwing their current hardware in the recycling bin. This presented us with another challenge as we had to integrate Shopify with their current point of sale but thanks to some helpful collaboration this was resolved with little fuss.

The Outcome

As we said, building a Shopify store is little fuss for us these days but making sure it delivers is something we take very personally. Training was delivered to staff members, scenarios run and checked to make sure sales were accurate and stock managed correctly. Statistics logged and monitored and thanks to our partnership with Shopify we can periodically log into all of our client's Shopify stores to make sure they are running properly and look out for improvements that we can roll out across all of our Shopify clients.
